With New Active Disc System

The Contivar TM Expander is supplied with a new compression control system for expansion.
The system works with an Active Disc forming strings of expanded product. The AD system is more easy to control and offers excellent availability of wearparts compared with the traditional conesystems.

On the right an image of a recently installed AL300 expander for production of special feed for ruminants. With the flash-off exhaust system removed it shows the amount of flash-off steam escaping at the AD slides exit. The expanded
crumbles made with this AL300 expander only need cooling before storage.

The feed made with this Almex expander is processed according to a patent granted to the German feedmill Deuka. In the German compound feed market Deuka is the leading producer with nine plants now producing around 1.8 million tonnes per year. More information about this special feed for ruminants is available through Deuka Düsseldorf ( www.deuka.de ) or Almex, however only available for companies involved in feeding of ruminants.

The picture below shows a Contivar TM AL300 LD 7.8 conditioner with hydraulic slide and inline drive. Also available with V-belt drive. In combination with an Almex crusher this unit is an excellent tool for the production of crumbled feed.

Due to the proven advantages of the Active Disc system there is hardly any demand for the traditional cone system. Market demand forced us to concentrate on production of the AD system as a standard. However on specific request of client we can still supply our expanders with the old cone system as an option.

Now available from the Contivar-expanders specialists:
The AD conversion kit to replace the traditional cone system on Annular Gap expanders.
This conversion set consists of an ALMEX AD slide system modified such that it fits to the Annular Gap compression housing without any alterations needed. An additional hydro unit to control the slide goes with the set. Only the control system needs some small changes in order to create the AD slide functions.
Several conversions have taken place already and with succes, these expanders run now more stable and with less fines!

The installation of the AD conversion set takes only one day (start early in the morning and finish late in the evening, running right from the start). For the conversion we supply a "control box" for the slide function to communicate with the existing control.
